12:15-1:15pm, weekly Monday, Vinyasa Flow in the FEELING room.
An upbeat class designed to start the week with a midday pick-me-up and a return to conscious awareness of our divine nature. This class will offer modifications to suit all levels and will focus on breath, alignment, physical strengthening and opening the heart.
Open with an intention-setting time, we will join with an “Om,” we will start with several seated warm-ups, move into some sun salutations, then standing poses, forward poses, some back-bending, inversions and twisting. All asanas will be taught in kranas, so we can engage the practitioner at any level. I will use props, such as blocks and straps, to assist yogis. The class will end with a yoga nidra and savasana. I will offer hands-on adjustments if the yogi is comfortable. I plan to weave in some spiritual readings from sources like the Bhagavad Gita or the yoga sutras.
Facilitator: Amy Gaffney, email@example.com, has completed the 200-hour multi-disciplinary teacher training program in Basic Hatha Yoga and is excited to share with other yogis her passion for yoga and her quest for more mindful living. Amy is a native of West Virginia; she has called Mount Pleasant home for the past 9 years. Amy’s love for the practice has been borne out of a desire to find a means of merging physical and spiritual wellness and she believes yoga, or union, is an excellent route. Amy looks forward to growing with the Bliss community and sharing many bliss-ful classes with new friends.
